Cleveland Clinic Top Doc Launches Lecture Series

Symphony Park announces free lecture series beginning Sept. 23 with heart surgeon and Cleveland Clinic CEO Dr. Delos M. "Toby" Cosgrove.

The Office of Business Development at the city of Las Vegas, along with Newland Communities, launches the Symphony Park Lecture Series at the Fifth Street School on Wednesday, Sept. 23. There is reserved seating for invited guests and limited public seating.

The inaugural presenter is Dr. Delos M. "Toby" Cosgrove, an internationally renowned heart surgeon who serves as president and CEO of the Cleveland Clinic. The world's second largest group practice, Cleveland Clinic employs 1,800 physicians and scientists in 120 medical specialties and sub-specialties. Cleveland Clinic's group practice model recently has been touted as one of the best to deliver true change to our country's health care system.

In addition to expanding upon Cleveland Clinic's views on health care reform, Dr. Cosgrove will introduce Las Vegans to the Cleveland Clinic's hallmark model of care and discuss his vision for the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. A frequent lecturer at medical conferences and symposia around-the-globe, Dr. Cosgrove has appeared recently on CNBC, The News Hour with Jim Lehrer and Fox News. In August, he and the Cleveland Clinic hosted President Obama to share information on the hospital's model of care. Dr. Cosgrove has performed more than 22,000 procedures during his career and has 30 patents filed for developing medical and clinical products. He has overseen the Cleveland Clinic and its 40,000 employees since 2004.
