February Lecture about The Smith Center
The next Symphony Park Lecture will feature a panel discussion and presentation on The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. Set for Wednesday, February 10 at 5 pm at the Fifth Street School, this free public lecture will focus on the economic, community and quality of life benefits that will be created by our city’s new performing arts center that is also the cornerstone of Symphony Park.
Panelists will include The Smith Center “dream team” comprised of Chairman of the Board, Don Snyder; CEO Myron Martin; CFO Rick Johnson; and the newest member, COO Paul Beard, a seasoned theater manager who has more than 20 years experience in the performing arts industry, opened the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, and spent 15 years in Ft. Worth, Texas, building and operating Bass Performance Hall.
The Symphony Park Lecture Series launched in September 2009 with a presentation by Dr. Delos M. “Toby” Cosgrove, internationally renowned heart surgeon, president and CEO of the Cleveland Clinic. The Series is designed to engage the local community in compelling and pertinent topics germane to Symphony Park, its anchor projects and other quality of life issues in Las Vegas.
