Cleveland Clinic is first completed project in Symphony Park
The Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health marks its official completion on May 1, 2010, with the opening of its event space, the Life Activity Center. Designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, the Center has attracted attention from around the nation and impressed former President George W. Bush on a recent tour. Even more impressive is the facility’s bold mission to end memory and neurocognitive disorders such as ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s and diseases. The 60,000 square-foot educational and medical Center also includes a Diagnostic Imaging Center and caregiver library open to the community.
The Life Activity Center event space includes a Wolfgang Puck-designed kitchen with a selection of caterers, and accommodates up to 500 for dinner and 900 people for private parties, conferences and trade shows. Revenue generated from the Life Activity Center supports the Center’s mission to promote vital aging in those affected by memory disorders and to provide enhanced treatment until there is a cure.
The first anchor project of Symphony Park, the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health began construction on February 9, 2007 and treated its first patient on July 13, 2009.
