July events rock downtown this summer

This Fourth of July weekend, music and family friendly festivities will make freedom rock and ring in the heart of the city. Downtown at the Fremont Street Experience, Little River Band takes the stage on Saturday, July 3 with its “super ‘70’s” hits including Lady, Lonesome Lover and Cool Change. Little River Band is part of the ‘Summer of the '70s’ entertainment lineup that started rocking downtown on Memorial Day Weekend and continues through Labor Day Weekend.

Meanwhile, Red, White & Tunes, a patriotic concert featuring the UNLV Community Band and other special guests, will take place at the Springs Preserve on Saturday, July 3 beginning at 8pm. Guests are encouraged to bring small folding chairs, kick back with ice cream, snow cones, hot dogs and other summertime goodies while they enjoy the show. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 6 and older. Children ages 5 and under are free. Family packs are available.

July Children's Concerts at the Fifth Street School
Tickets are now on sale for two downtown children’s concerts scheduled for July 15 and July 22, presented by the city of Las Vegas. Grammy award-winning musicians who are popular with the younger set, Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer with special guest Christylez Bacon, will headline the July 15 show. The energetic Billy Jonas trio, known for audience sing- and bang-alongs, will entertain July 22. Showtimes are 2pm and 7pm each day. Tickets are priced at $3 each or $10 for a family four-pack. Large group discounts are available. Both shows are recommended for all ages.
