Symphony Park Lecture March 9th features the design team for The Smith Center
Join The Smith Center CEO Myron Martin and three of the design world’s most influential leaders for a lively discussion at the Symphony Park Lecture on Wednesday, March 9 at the historic Fifth Street School.
The free public event will explore the convergence of architecture, interior design and sound design within The Smith Center and is headlined by David M. Schwarz, the renowned Washington, D.C.-based architect responsible for The Smith Center’s classic art-deco style.
Schwarz, whose award-winning firm handles iconic cultural, institutional, commercial, sports, educational, and residential projects across the US, is widely known for its design of many of the country’s landmark opera houses, performance halls and major sports arenas and parks.
Joining Schwarz are Joshua Dachs from New York City-based Fisher Dachs Associates, one of the world’s leading theatre planning and design firms; and Paul Scarbrough, principal designer with Akustiks, a renowned consulting firm specializing in the acoustical design of performing arts facilities of all sizes and types.
A pre-lecture wine reception hosted by Faciliteq and Architectural & Decorative Arts Society begins at 5pm at the Fifth Street School, 401. So.
