Symphony Park has been declared LEED® for Neighborhood Development gold stage 2 as a community. As part of this program, each of the individual buildings within Symphony Park are also required to gain LEED certification. In recognition of Symphony Park's leadership in sustainability, the Las Vegas Business Press awarded its 2010 BEST GREEN PRACTICES: BUILDING award to the project.

For the city of Las Vegas, sustainability is more than just being “green” — it is a way to ensure that current and future generations will enjoy the quality of life we have all worked so hard to achieve. At Symphony Park, sustainability has been woven into every aspect of the community – from design and layout to livability. The city’s Green Building Resolution encompasses a green building program, allocates money for green building and requires that any new city facilities meet LEED silver or equivalent standards. The Green Council, consisting of developers, architects and various organizations, was formed by the city of Las Vegas to help implement the American Institute of Architects Blueprint for Nevada
As the city’s private sector partner on Symphony Park, Newland is also doing their part to foster sustainability not only on this project, but at all their Newland Communities developments throughout the country. Newland Communities works with builders in its communities to use energy-conserving design and materials, and finds innovative ways to manage environmental impact before, during and after construction. As an active participant and supporter of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the nation’s foremost green coalition of leaders within the development and building industry, Newland promotes buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to work and live. Now and in the future, Newland Communities is incorporating the USGBC’s LEED Green Building Rating System into community planning.
